There was a time in my life where I was fed messages that knocked the wind out of my sails. These messages became deeply rooted in my subconscious - the most powerful place to plant roots.
A time where men were in control of the money, and women had to ask. Yes, this is how I grew up. And somehow was led to believe that I was a 2nd class citizen and financial decisions were for the man.
And for a woman to enter the financial services industry 40 years ago!? Huh !!! I was told that women did not do this line of work, over and over again. Who told me? My dad.
So I spent the next 12 years in marriage feeling financially held hostage. Defeated. My self esteem was non existent. I attracted more of the same old to reaffirm my beliefs. Until one day I fled.
And that was to Halton Women's Place to escape the vicious cycle I was trapped in. I fled with my 2 small children in the middle of the night to seek comfort and safety.
It was there that I had my moment of clarity. I was going to rebuild my life on my own and help others from feeling trapped. It’s not only women that feel this way, it’s men too.
The thoughts of not feeling financially safe and secure haunted me. I went to work. I already had a tax and business back ground making it possible for me to develop financial strategies for myself and others. Soon in time, I built myself a financial fortress and for thousands of others in the last 3 decades. Sovereign Wealth Management was born and 25+ years later, I build Wealth and Estate Planning Portfolios for Business Owners, Executives and Professionals.
I have a keen sense of building strength and safety, knowing it is the core root need of people. In my own adversity, I found that I instinctively know how to help empower others along with my expertise ans strategic planning ability.
Today, I hold dedicated, focused dinner events for women to help them step out of their fear and into new empowerment. My joy is bringing as many ladies along the way to financial freedom, who make firm decisions building their own financial fortress.
Why? It is the helping of others that allowed me to heal.
Another why? Most of us end up on our own from death and divorce.
It’s time we all knew how to gain power gaining knowledge and safety through educated decisions.
